Find a calling, not a job.
Find a calling, not a job.
As a young mother in 1953, Eileen left her large family — including three beloved grandmothers — back home in Rhode Island to venture out west. Making a fresh start in Southern California, Eileen joined Rowntree Gardens as a housekeeper, and quickly discovered a new family filled with grandmothers. More than a job, Eileen had found her true calling: bringing comfort and joy to people’s daily lives.
For more than 45 years, Eileen approached each day as another opportunity to make our community members feel recognized, valued, and loved. More than cleaning rooms and making beds, Eileen always took the time to check in with each community member to see how they were doing — and to see how she could brighten their day. When Eileen was promoted to Director of Housekeeping, she made sure her staff approached their work with the same heart and devotion.
We’d love to treat you to lunch and a tour, so you can see how Eileen’s devoted team of housekeepers is making a real difference in people’s lives, every day.
