Common Contract Types
When comparing CCRCs and other types of senior living communities, you will encounter various contract types: Rowntree Gardens offers two different Continuing Care contracts, also known as Type B.
It’s important to understand the difference between these contract types so that you can make the right choice for your needs:
Continuing Care Enhanced Type B
CCRCs provide a continuum of care for life within the same community. This includes independent living, assisted living services (help with dressing, bathing, meals, and more), memory care, long-term skilled nursing, and/or short-term therapy.
Continuing Care Enhanced contracts require an entrance fee but offer relatively stable monthly fees with only small adjustments for cost of living/inflation increases. They provide a predictable lifetime monthly rate with no rate increase if more care is needed within the same level of care (Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, or Skilled Nursing).
Continuing Care Type B
These contracts typically require higher entrance fees. With Continuing Care (Type B) contracts, monthly fees may increase with the level of care. Continuing Care contracts can vary significantly so it’s important to review the contract language.

Why Choose a Buy-In Contract?
There are multiple advantages to choosing a senior living community that offers buy-in, Type B contracts, including:
Your long-term care needs are provided in the same community, eliminating the need to move off property.
You’ll have access to variety of activities designed to promote emotional, intellectual, spiritual, and physically well-being at every level of care.
You will continue to receive the care and services you need for life, regardless of changes in your health and level of care.
Couples can remain in the same community, even should one spouse need a different level of care.
Many Continuing Care and Continuing Care Enhanced, Type B contracts help cover care costs that Medicare and health insurance plans do not, including long-term skilled nursing and memory care, and housing. Compare your
options to ensure you’re covered for every season of life.
