Senior Living Community Knitting Club Donates Over 40 Handmade Blankets to Seniors Displaced by LA Fires

PressRelease

The Knitting Club came together with love and dedication to create over 40 handmade blankets, bringing warmth and comfort to those displaced by the LA fires. Thanks to the incredible support of LeadingAge California, we found the perfect home for these blankets at The Covington Senior Living, where they will provide much-needed warmth and a sense of care to the residents who are temporarily living there. We are so grateful to everyone who contributed their time, effort, and compassion to this project. Small acts of kindness can make a big difference, and we’re proud to be part of a community that looks out for one another.

“Because we all need a little heartwarming content at the end of this wild month: Residents from Rowntree Gardens in Stanton knitted blankets and scarves, and collected donations of other critical items for MonteCedro residents from Altadena who are evacuated due to the Eaton Fire and currently residing at The Covington in Aliso Viejo. The Rowntree Gardens residents also donated gift cards to displaced fire evacuees residing at Monte Vista Grove Homes in Pasadena. LeadingAge California’s Meredith Chillemi helped deliver the items and remarked, “The Eaton Fire victims have been through so much in the past few weeks. This was a tremendous act of kindness from the residents of Rowntree Gardens.”
