LVN, Charge Nurse for Skilled Nursing

We are hiring a Full-time Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), Charge Nurse for our Elmwood Care Center Skilled Nursing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Render nursing care to community members within an assigned unit.
• Observe and report symptoms and conditions of residents.
• Take and record temperatures, respiration, and pulse.
• Administer medications and IV's prescribed by physician and record any reactions.
• Set up treatment trays, prepare instruments and other equipment, accompany and assist physician with treatments.
• Assist in administering highly specialized therapy with complicated equipment.
• Maintain records reflecting community member's condition, medication, and treatments.
• Assume responsibility for proper care of complicated apparatus used in treating community members.
• Supervise the feeding of community members.
• Maintain a working knowledge of resident's condition at all times.
• Review reports from previous shifts to determine changes in status of residents and assigns duties to nursing personnel.
• Responsible for notifying Director of Nursing (DON) and/or Administrator of changes in patient condition or other job-related problems.

JOB SPECIFICATION:

• Full-time NOC Shift 11:00pm - 7:00am
  • Weekdays/Weekends needed, days may vary

EXPERIENCE:

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing, currently registered and licensed with the California State Board of Nursing
• 1 or more years of experience in long-term care preferred
• Must be CPR and First Aid certified

Due to California State regulations, we are required to have all of our applicants pass a Background Check, Physical, and a TB test.
