Activities Assistant for Memory Care

We are hiring an Activities Assistant to join our Gardens Memory Care Center. The Gardens Memory Care Center is home to our community members with Dementia, Alzheimer's and other memory-related impairments. We strive to provide the best care with patience, respect, and dignity in a structures environment where they can thrive and feel safe. As the Activities Assistant, you will be an essential role in developing and executing activities for our community members that will help nurture and encourage their individual abilities to help them live meaningful and purposeful lives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct activities in GMC and assure maximum participation at all programs by conducting activities that will motivate community members.
• Aid in helping the assisted living activities department when needed.
• Responsible for the proper care and use of supplies and equipment.
• Participate and take responsibility for all off-campus bus excursions for GMC.
• Collaborate with GMC Director and Community Activities Director in creating and administering activity goals.
• Perform monthly decorating, poster boards, and other crafts.

JOB SPECIFICATION:  Part-time 9am-5pm 

• Thursday & Friday Only 

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS: 

• Education background in activities or related work experience as an Activities Assistant is required
• Must have general knowledge in activities directed for seniors
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to understand and follow written or verbal instructions
• Possess creativity necessary for recreational and craft activities
• Generate enthusiasm for all activity programs
• Effectively communicate and deal tactfully with staff, community members, families, visitors, and volunteers
• Empathy and the heart to work with the senior community

Due to California State regulations, we are required to have all our applicants pass a Background Check, Physical, and TB test.
