We are looking for a Director of Staff Development for our Elmwood Care Center Skilled Nursing that will fit the Rowntree Gardens Community. I'm InterestedESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties and responsibilities may be added as needed and requested by the Director that are within the scope of this position.- Develops, coordinates, implements and evaluates educational programs for C.N.A.'s, licensed nurses and ancillary staff.
- Coordinates in-service education program for all employees together with their respective department heads.
- Provides an orientation program for C.N.A.'s and licensed nurses that focuses on policies and procedures of the Skilled Nursing Facility, C.N.A.'s/licensed nurses job duties, competency skills and State and Federal regulations.
- Implements an on-going evaluation process of C.N.A.'s /licensed nurses and coordinates with D.O.N. for nursing personnel skill to ensure compliance with standards of practice.
- Develops, monitors, and evaluates Infection Control practices. Works with other staff to ensure compliance with Infection Control practices and procedures. Maintains Infection Control Log.
- Assists and performs tuberculosis testing including documentation for campus staff either at date of hire or annually.
- Evaluates and plans in-service training programs to address areas where the facility received deficiencies during survey, complaint visits, or as identified as part of the on-going Quality Assurance Program.
- Assists in monitoring and overall supervision of main dining areas assigned: resident living area rounds; resident hygiene/care/resident room safety, shower program, toileting program, and appropriateness and completeness of Activities of Daily Living (ADL) documentation.
- Ensures scheduling of qualified and adequate numbers of C.N.A.'s to meet resident care need on a 24-hour basis. Responsible for C.N.A. monthly and daily schedule.
- Attends mandatory in-service meetings; be aware of changes in health and safety regulations and changes in employee policies and emergency procedures.
- Responds to community member's concerns and complaints in a timely manner in coordination with the Director of Nursing/SNF Administrator.
- Part-time requiring a minimum of 26 hours/week (Full-time depending on other factors)
- Valid California Registered Nurse license/Licensed Vocational Nurse license.
- 1-year of long-term care experience preferred.
- Knowledge of State and Federal regulations.
- Must have current CPR certificate
- High clinical competence.
- Knowledge of and follow through with universal precautions.
