We are looking for an Assistant Director of Nursing for our Elmwood Care Center that will fit the Rowntree Gardens Community. Duties and responsibilities may be added as needed and requested by the Director that are within the scope of this position.
  • Assists in reviewing and developing Nursing care policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for clinical nursing care and services in the facility.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of departmental manual (philosophy, objectives procedures and job descriptions).
  • Assures that health programs and services comply with federal and state regulations and guide corrective action when applicable.
  • Participates in staff evaluations and disciplinary reviews.
  • Monitors medication management with the assistance of the consulting pharmacist.
  • Participates in the following committees: infection control, pharmacy, quality assurance, transfer, safety, and others as needed.
  • Coordinates needs with the Medical Record Audit Program that is in place and being adhered to assure accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborates with the nursing staff and departmental heads in assessment of health, psycho-social, rehabilitation and environmental needs of community members.
  • Participates in conferences with staff, community members, and responsible parties as regulated by State and Federal regulations as well as staff or community member concerns.
  • Assures that prevention programs are in place such as Hepatitis B, CPR, PPD testing etc.
  • Coordinates transfer and discharge of community members from the SN.
  • Assists the D.O.N. to organize, direct and supervise all departmental functions and personnel in: scheduling hours, assigning duties and instructing personnel.
  • Coordinates with DSD in department orientation and training for new personnel.
  • Responsible to assist in maintaining effective time management of all nursing staff and approval of immediate staff's time sheet.
  • Actively promotes a culture of safety in workplace practices and guides department staff in continually focusing on safety. Ensures that proper safety equipment and training on safe procedures are available and consistently utilized by employees.
  • Assists in partnering with DSD and Human Resources regarding all matters pertaining to personnel such as hiring, changes in status, leave of absence, progressive discipline issues (above the basic level), and termination decisions.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality as it relates to Residents and employees of the Community.
  • Responsible to assist in maintaining effective time management of all nursing staff and approval of immediate staff's time sheet.
  •  Full-time approximately 10am-6pm
    • Must be available some weekends and off hours for IV hang
    • Should be available by phone 24/7 for emergencies
    • Work hours and schedule shall remain flexible to meet the needs of the facility, staff, operations, and community involvement.
  • Requires a valid California Registered Nursing License (RN).
  • Must have knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding the operation of a health care facility and OSHA regulations.
  • CPR Certified.
Due to California State regulations, we are required to have all our applicants pass a Background Check, Physical, and TB Test.
