Pay: $16.00-$18.00/hour DOE

We are hiring a part-time Activities Assistant to join our Activities Department. This individual will be responsible for assisting the Activities Director in administering all recreational programs in the Independent/Assisted Living departments. They will support volunteers, assist in program planning, lead activities, and ensure accurate charting of activities for state compliance.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists with and/or conducts activities in the Independent/Assisted Living Departments.
  • Collaborates with the Activities Director in the creation and production of promotional literature such as, brochures, calendars, and flyers, etc.
  • Works with the Activities Director in creating and administering activity goals.
  • Performs monthly decorating, poster boards, and other crafts.
  • Maximizes participation at all programs by assisting with or conducting exercise classes that will motivate our community members.
  • Responsible for the proper care and use of supplies and equipment.
  • Ensures that the fitness and activity areas are neat and tidy at the conclusion of programs.

JOB SPECIFICATION:
  • Part-time, tentative schedule is as follows and may change to meet the needs of the department: 
    • Tuesday 8:00am-2:30pm
    • Wednesday 1:00-8:00pm 
    • Friday 9:30am-3:30pm
    • Saturday 8:30am-4:00pm
EXPERIENCE:
  • Must have general knowledge in activities directed for seniors and/or related experience as an Activities Assistant
  • Experience working with the elderly is preferred
  • Previous experience in event planning/coordination and educational/recreational activities is desired
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer savvy with experience in Microsoft Office and Canva
  • Generate enthusiasm for all Activity programs
  • Effectively communicate and deal tactfully with staff, community members, families, visitors, and volunteers
  • Empathy and the heart to work with the senior community
